Company History

Robinson Well Drilling has a long history of service in the Willamette Valley and Oregon. They are a leader in water Well Drilling and are also well known as one of the best “fishing” companies for their ability to retrieve tools and equipment lost down wells.

Robinson Well Drilling was established in 1945 by Harry Robinson. Harry handed down the company to his son George, who eventually passed the company along to Ron, the third generation owner of Robinson Well Drilling. Ron alone has completed over 700 water well projects both in Oregon and around the world and has drilled water wells at depth ranging from 18 feet to as much as 1760 feet below the surface.

Robinson Well Drilling has also partnered with the non-profit organization Water For Life to help bring water to remote areas internationally. See our Helping Out section to learn more!

About Ron

Ron was born in 1964 in Southern California. His family migrated to Dallas, Oregon where he attended school until returning to Southern California to join the National Guard. Ron served as a Combat Engineer (12 Bravo) for six years where he began to develop skills as a machinist.

After completing his service with the National Guard, Ron attended Orange Coast College, after which he moved back to Oregon and began work in the Well Drilling field with his Dad George. He has worked hard to improve his skills and methods and even spent some time working with other drilling companies to learn new tooling and techniques which he has incorporated into the way he drills wells today. He has personally drilled over 700 water wells in Oregon and around the world and has even worked to train people in southwestern Mexico in how to drill water wells using modern techniques and standards.

Ron and his wife raised three daughters and Ron spent time attending all their school functions and sponsoring marching band competitions among other school functions. When they aren’t spending time with their three grandchildren, Ron and his wife enjoy exploring back country roads on quads.

Helping Out

Robinson Well Drilling is affiliated with the non-profit organization Water For Life. Water For Life’s mission is to help communities in need develop safe and sustainable water sources. Robinson Well Drilling has pitched in to help with several international projects.

Poptún

One of the projects Robinson Well Drilling helped with was in Guatemala, in the northeast corner near a little town called Poptún. In that location they have drilled three wells for little towns far off the beaten path in areas known only as Zone 2 & 3, which is comprised of many little towns scattered out in the countryside with no power or reliable water supplies. Water For Life visits these areas to build schools and water wells for the community.

Due to the lack of power, most of the wells use simple hand pumps or solar systems to pump water up from the ground. All the wells drilled are for community use, not private individuals, to ensure the entire town can utilize the water without restriction.
